Who we are
We are a bible teaching, traditional Anglican church at the heart of Oatlands community. We have a rich musical heritage with an exceptional organ and choir in the mornings and a growing music group in the afternoons. We regularly connect with our 4 local schools (Walton Leigh special school, Cleves Academy, Oatlands Infant school and Oatlands preschool, and two care homes Signature and Sutton Lodge). In the week there are plenty of opportunities to connect in home groups, youth and children’s groups, seniors groups, Movie and meal, Colouring club, choir, bellringing ….. And we serve the community by hosting many outside groups eg Slimming World, Dancing Mamas, Baby Sensory, Toddler Tango amongst others. On Sundays we cater for all ages at our main services 10am and 4pm with a live link into the hall connecting an open creche for our more active children. (You can even watch us on youtube in the comfort of your own home if stuck at home). There is an activity table at the back of church and the junior church meets during some of our 10am services. After our main services there are refreshments and a chance to socialise in the halls.
The Guildford Diocese, which we are part of, has an over-arching vision of Transforming Church, Transforming Lives’. Working with this, our local vision is to be ‘Loving, Serving, Growing‘. We seek to:
- Love God and our neighbours better and more deeply.
- Serve God and serve our neighbours better and more deeply.
- Grow in depth in our walk with God while at the same time growing our church in numbers.
This then is worked out in our Vision 2030 document that seeks to incrementally and intentionally
- DEEPEN DISCIPLESHIP
- MOBILISE MISSION
- ENCOURAGE AND EQUIP EVANGELISM
- PERSIST and PRIORITISE PRAYER
- MATURE OUR MINISTRIES
- FOCUS OUR FACILITIES and FINANCES (to facilitate the vision)
Come and join us on the exciting journey….
